NTSE STAGE - 2

National level Examination

Candidates acquiring more than the required percentage in the state level examination and standing within a specified number of top ranks (state quota) are eligible to appear for the national level examination (about top 4000 students from the entire country). The national level examination has two parts for nominating the required number of candidates for the interviews to be conducted by the NCERT in May:
  • There is no prescribed syllabus for NTSE. The test is conducted on the basis of NCERT syllabus of 10th class. The test includes Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Social Sciences, Language & Mental Ability subjects.

NTSE STAGE - 1

NTSE Stage 1 is conducted at State level..........


The state level examination has Three parts for nominating the required number of candidates for the second level test to be conducted by the NCERT.

  •   Part I comprises of Mental Ability Test (MAT) consisting of 50 questions.

  • Part II comprises of Language Comprehensive Test (LCT) consisting of 40 questions in Hindi & 40 Questions in English but student have to choose any one language.

  • Part III comprises of Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) consisting 90 questions (From Social Science. Basic Science & Mathematics).

  • Time for Part I is 45 minutes, for Part II is 45 minutes and for Part III is 90 minutes.

Syllabus 

There is no prescribed syllabus for this examination. Paper will be based on the curriculum of Class IX and X.
